Bought as footnote to the Dudu Pukwana discography ... but this is a nice indeed footnote! Stuckey is quite a fine organ player and the supporting cast on the first two thirds of the disc is Phil Lee (g) and John Marshall (d). The last third is by the trio of Stuckey, Terry Smith (g) and Martin Hart (d) - and those tracks are certainly not without interest, even though Dudu is absent.

First listen to what has the reputation as one of the best of Teddy Edwards' albums ... and Edwards is a dearly beloved musician around these parts!

The Newport 1960 set, followed by various concert and TV appearances in 1961/62 - glorious, needless to say (and in spite of more than half a dozen of bonus tracks originating from the same October 1961 and May 1962 concerts as Frémeaux' previous "Live in Paris" 3CD set, no overlap - same repertoire of course, but no repeated performances).
