Took the Joe Pass Mosaic box off the shelf as it contains two albums led by Les McCann, but ended up playing the entire set over the past few days (listening to the fifth and last disc as I'm typing this, which contains the live session from 1964 that ended up on "Joy Spring") - outstanding stuff, mostly! (Mostly, because there is one superfluous novelty album of Pass' on 12-string doing film tunes, and there's an abandoned session with four Hank Williams tunes that don't have enough flesh to the bone for Pass to really get inspired.)

Went on with Duke's Big 4, comprised of Ellington, Pass, Ray Brown and Louis Bellson - mighty good!

Then played plenty of Pass on youtube, including (parts of) the three final Pacific albums - the third one, "Simplicity", is actually pretty nice.
Much nicer (and ordered now) is his MPS album "Intercontinental". Also revisited this disc, compiling some c. 1970 LA studio session with the likes of Joe Sample and Carol Kaye. Funkier than what Pass usually does, and rather shlock-y, too, to be honest, but I enjoy it every once in a while:

Now onto these two:

Great, great Blue Note. Blue Mitchell, with Corea (at times) threatening to steal the show.

Veit Bach-a baker who found his greatest pleasure in a little cittern which he took with him even into the mill and played while the grinding was going on. In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach
