After binging on Miles, I decided to go systematically through my jazz CDs.  First up is Sonny Rollins.  Tonight the first two CDs of this.


The first two tracks are collaborations with Thelonious Monk. The rest correspond to these three albums

The double LP My Spanish Heart by Chick Corea came into my hands soon after its release, half a century ago. My first encounter with it was overwhelming. I had known Chick Corea's jazz-rock pieces for a couple of years already from  Radio Liberty broadcasts that I caught on a shortwave radio back then, but this LP set was the first one I played on my turntable. I am not sure why, yet the freshness of that first impression has stayed with me all this time almost unchanged. An extraordinary musician and an extraordinary album.
