I'm Ivan from Croatia, Zagreb to be more specific, a classical and jazz music aficionado of disputable taste and a classical guitar player having just finished my 8th year of music education. I probably won't be a very active member since I mostly came to browse random topics and maybe share a few guitar compositions and compositions written by Croatian composers that I think are worth mentioning (since both seem rather neglected). With high hopes of not having any grammatical errors in this here text, I'll end this introduction. Cheers!

Well probably the most famous one would be Boris Papandopulo, and with reason. When I said neglected I meant all together, not specific composers. I personally doubt you've heard of any Croatian composers at all, but if you have then maybe they're not as neglected as I thought. I hope you understood what I meant to say. ^^

Thank you! Croatia is beautiful if you know where to go and if you're a tourist. But it can be a pain in the ass if you have to live there

I don't! Nice find! Zagreb Soloists (in Croatia Zagrebački Solisti) are probably one of the best ensembles Croatia has to offer, can't go wrong with them Made a topic in the composers department about Papandopulo, for people who are interested.

He was discussed on the listening boards at some point - I know this because I wishlisted a disc that was recommended. But I have not actually heard his work, so very much appreciate the link you posted. It looks like I could be spending some money this summer after all...
