So sorry to hear about your sister's passing.

She is relieved from that far worse thing and with her maker and her beloved grandmother who loves her so dearly. As we continue to do the right things, I know she'd be smiling upon us.

So sorry to hear this terribly sad news Paul. May all the love that you clearly gave to your sister be reflected back to you now.

The service will be on Sunday, July 18th. She will be laid to rest in northern Beijing, with the mountains in the back, a river and three pogoda's in front.

I just received a message from a member here who is not often active here, but a close friend of mine in Beijing. Squarez met my sister only once, I believe. This is what he said:

"Of all the people I have known who passed away, she is the only person who will always be a special part of my life. Her strength and passion will inspire me for the rest of my life."

What a lovely tribute from someone who only met your sister once. She must have been an extraordinary person to inspire such a comment.

When she was recovering, I gave her the Bach WTC which she listened to almost everyday, often continiously. When she was better she played parts of it on the piano. I love this recording. But it means more to her now than to me, and certainly belongs to her more than it belongs to me. So, this very CD set will be with her in her resting place. She will always have Bach's music with her, music that meant so much to her.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

I express you my sincere condolences, Paul. The words you have written about your sister are very moving. God is with her and with all your family right now.

When my sister left this world, it was a bright and sunny day. From that moment ten days ago until about 10 am this morning, the sun never appeared. It was either cloudy or raining. But just before we laid her to rest, all the clouds left and the warmth of sunshine bathed the surroundings. Was it fate? It must have been. Is she resting in peace now, confident and secure in the knowledge that her brother will ease all her worries about her son and about our parents? She must be. That's why at the moment, and for the first time in ten days, the world around here is beautiful, warm, serene and peaceful.

Rest in peace, my baby sister. God gave you to my life when I was five, the greatest gift of all! You gave me so much, and you will continue giving. My life would never have been the same without having you in my life. I would not become the person that I am.

Remember the clay teapot you gave me? Everytime I use it, I am enjoying a cup of tea with you. Remember the Well Tempered Klavier? I will play it regularly in your honor. One day, Kimi will learn to play it. Maybe Vanessa and I will learn to play a prelude or two as well. Remember your lecture material? I have added your name to some of my lecture materials, giving you the credit that is truly due and continuing your legacy as the best cooperate trainer in China, and indeed one of the best in the world who received GE Global Employee of the Year honor a few years ago. In a couple of months, there will be a EQ in Management lecture by Sherry Yin and Paul Yin. Yes, your name will be in front, and I will tell all the students about you.

In a different way, in a different form, in different dimensions, but we will always be together. You have always been the love of my life.

Rest in Peace.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

I am only writing this Paul to acknowledge that I have read your beautiful tribute to your sister, which speaks for itself.

My heart goes out to you and Vanessa, Paul, and to your nephew.  I'm not surprised that you would give him all the love and support you can.  He may be your sister's brightest legacy...and I imagine you will always see her in him.

I lost an admired friend and sometime mentor last week, after a long, noble, and inspiring struggle with his disease.  I guess it shouldn't be surprising how much more aware of death we become, and how much more often we're touched by it, as we grow older.  It reminds me of the preciousness of life and of the relationships that are the most important thing in life, and it spurs me to express my feelings for those I love while I still have them with me.

Bless you and yours, my friend.
