I'm afraid that there were still plenty of bloopers.... ???   :D
Some impulsive purchases, some calculated gambles and some were recordings that I expected much more of....

Q

Anyone have a 2015 Blooper purchase to report?  I think I must, but I shall marshal my thoughts . . . .

Joseph Payne, Dublin Manuscript. Hasn't made me enjoy the music.

Dichterliebersreigentraum. I had the recording via spotify but I bought the CD because I thought there was a libretto with it. But no libretto.

Mikkelsen plays Boehm -- not a very interesting organ.

Vlach Quartet Mozart. Bought for The Hunt because I knew it was "special", but it's just too romantic for me.

Not my cup of tea:
Others might enjoy it more than I did however:

In my case, no genuine bloopers.  The recording purchased in 2015 with which I was least satisfied, was not anything like a grievous lapse  8)

Seconded! After looking over my list of 2015 purchases, there are certainly still things that have not yet been listened-to, but everything I've heard has been great!

This is pretty bad:

Terrible piano, which succeeds in being at once muffled and headachingly piercing, only two dynamics used - ppppppp and fffffffffff, humourless, joyless, charmless...  Luckily only cost me £7.50 in a charity shop, and was just about worth it for Jane Manning.

Most of the new things I heard this year were via Tidal, which lowers the risk of disappointment.  I have to go back to October of 2014 to find something I purchased that actively annoyed me:

You may have heard pieces where the flutist sings into the flute or overblows.  Ge Gan-ru has the flute soloist sobbing into the flute.  Not just a little bit; a lot.  Just awful.  I really liked his string quartets, but I won't be bothering after this.

I do not remember anything awful among my purchases this year for classical.  However I got interested in this guy based on a song heard on the local country/western station ("Lose my mind"), which suggested a promising blend of pop and country, but which ended up delivering bland (albeit listenable) tunes, the two best of which seem to have ripped off Jimmy Buffet lyrics.
