Delicious Manager

Hello!

I originally registered for this forum way back in December 2011, but 'lost' the site subsequently. I will try to do better this time. I'm a professional manager in the classical music field in the UK (formerly of orchestras, now my own consultancy/agency specialising in ensembles).

Looking forward to mingling.

And, yes, I like Mahler!

Excellent, even if the chap whose self-ascribed duty it was to ask about this hasn't been around lately.

What about Sibelius? ;)

Hello, DM, and welcome back. I'm sure you'll find some interesting discussions, Mahler included - enjoy!

We could always use more Mahlerians around here. Welcome! 8) Who are some other composers you enjoy?

Thanks for the welcomes!

I have always tended to listen and explore a great deal outside the realm of 'mainstream' repertoire. This has led me to discover some truly wonderful (but neglected) composers such as Caldara, Kraus, Myslíveček, Voříšek, Wilms, Reicha, Ries, Godard, Onslow, Schmidt, Tcherepnin (N) and many, many more. My 'specialism' (and the area in which I have most often worked) is orchestral music, with chamber music coming second; I am not nearly so knowledgeable about keyboard or vocal works or opera.

Sounds like you will fit in quite nicely with the crowd in Gurn's Classical Corner8)

Welcome back. :)
