Hi to everyone!! I have been reading intensively the forum, specially the great Performance / Recordings sections with great pleasure.

Given the lack of physical offer and other alternatives (like Spotify) in my country, it is always great to be able to read nice recommendations from the expert members that are willing to share their experiences.

I am currently exploring the baroque repertoire, including not so week known composers and the forum has been very useful, so I hope I can share my experiences from this never ending passion.

Regards,

Carlos.

This message was really painful, Bruce.  :D

I think we are three Chileans now, but Gabriel (the other Chilean) has been inactive a lot of time.

Given the lack of physical offer and other alternatives (like Spotify) in my country...

BTW, today Spotify has arrived in Chile (I mean if you didn't have an account via VPN).

Deezer arrived several months ago and NML has been available for several years now.

Lack of physical stores is a worldwide fact and I don't see a predictable change in the near future.   :(

So little Sibelius in my collection makes me feel sad, so sad I will have to expand the collections. 101 Sibelius recommendations?

Some recommendations from me:

These are enough to get you started and will keep you occupied for quite some time.

And if you happen to have a DVD/BD-player in need of some new material:

Welcome!  What's the classical-music scene like in Santiago?  Is there a good orchestra?  An opera company?  Amateur singing or playing groups? :)

Belated greetings and welcome Carlos. The Baroque era is an endless well from which to draw, not least from the Baroque music of the New World. Enjoy your time here  :)
