First off, rest assured this has nothing to do with that Tom Cruise movie.  ;D

It seems I've been invited to take part in a friendly game of Risk in a few days. I've never played it, and while little is at stake I'd much prefer not to have my a$$ handed to me.

Any pointers, helpful links or suggestions would be most welcome.  8)

Haven't played since I was a teen, probably. Have fun!

Like Karl, I played it years ago—in my case, mostly with my brothers and sisters. Despite its theme of world domination, we all still talk to each other. ;D Not sure I recall enough to offer strategy, but I do remember it was not difficult to grasp its concepts and get proficient pretty quickly.
