There was a plot? I was there for the shooting, light sabres and vistas of the universe.

Yep. I just finished watching the Original Trilogy with my daughter (I've seen them many times, but it had been a while) and they certainly have their share of plot holes, inconsistencies, and miraculous victories.

The big difference between those movies and TFA is that we're a lot older now.

Yes, the finale of Jedi is one of the two moments (along with Yoda dishing out zen wisdom in Empire) that transcends the pulpiness of it all.

He's not supposed to be. He's merely a Vader wannabe. Rey overpowering him during her interrogation was the highlight of the movie for me.
Yes, watched the last half of 'The Empire Strikes Back' with my daughter today, on DVD. The Yoda Zen lesson was definitely a highlight.

They should have made 20 Star Wars movies for you between 1977 and 1983 and none after that. The World circles around you!
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I take what the guy says in the initial posting on this thread but I still enjoyed the film. Am tempted to watch the prequels which I hardly know at all. It annoyed me when I heard that at the end of 'Return of the Jedi' which is my favourite of 4-7 they replaced the face of Darth Vader (Anakin?) with the younger Darth Vader from the prequels. I really liked his unmasked original appearance.

Can't say much for the prequels but concerning the old trilogy, I highly recommend downloading the so-called 'despecialized' editions made by a fan who goes by the name Harmy. Aside from being an insanely amazing labor of love, the untouched originals really shine.

Not that I've followed the saga, but did my ear catch that Disney is poised to re-issue the pre-tampered-with original trilogy?

If you yield to that temptation, I should be interested in your report. I only watched the last (and it was a scratched, well- [or ill-] used library DVD, which "hung up" at two points, so I missed I cannot be sure just how much), which seemed to me to underscore the consensus that the pre-quels are a canny fusion of Lucas' weaknesses as writer and dramaturg further weakened, with nascent state-of-the-art CGI.

Yes, there are rumours, hopefully based on a real restoration taking place.
