Hello again.  I was here for awhile in mid-2011, using the same moniker. Not much going on, drifted away. A correspondent from another forum moved here recently; I missed him there, so... .

Now I'm going to look around the place some more. Cheers.

Hmmm... never heard of any good elements coming out of Vermont...  ???

(Except me, of course.)

Hello there, Hilltroll!

Feel free to refresh our memories regarding your taste in music.

My taste in music is pretty catholic - except for opera, there only a few I like.  As a teenager I enjoyed Verdi, but now I only tolerate those.  I can listen to Berlioz's Les Troyens every couple years and get into the music.

I tend to like the music of Adams and Alkan, Bach and Brahms, Dowland and Debussy... brass, woodwinds, many stringed instruments including the piano... renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic, 20th C, newer.

I have been known to express an opinion, sometimes knowledgeable sometimes not.  My sense of humor is highly developed, not always appreciated.

Hah.  Thanks for asking.  ;)

Gurn, whether or no I am a 'good element' is definitely debatable. In my community the tendency to talk a lot is sometimes offset by the tendency to laugh at others' jokes.  I am also a 'gunner', but that is OK around my neck of the woods.

I've been around so long that the common-in-the-US perception of Vermont as a 'liberal' state is pretty amusing.   8)

:)  Me too. Damn flatlanders, eh!  George Aiken was MY Senator!

Well, we can always talk about Brahms as a middle-ground. ;)

ha! I can't say if I am or not, but I've begun to work out who not to get on the wrong side of here. ;)

And the moderators are all lovely and kind and considerate and fair, unlike that other place I was banished from. :)

One listen to Les Troyens certainly goes a long way. I'm not a big fan of Adams, but of the others, certainly. ... I have a feeling you'll fit right in. :)

Always best regards.

Well hey, the semi-solids have hit the fan over there again - and as usual many of the members don't mind the spray. I may have lipped off enough this time to earn an 'assisted' departure. Thinking I will jump the gun.

GMG-ers, get ready. For starters, I'm pretty sure I can get into an argument with young COAG about something. I don't need to know anything about it. I do my best work when unencumbered by facts.

:D I love the way that was phrased!

You are making me glad I did not tarry long there.
Although the actual reason I left was that I lost my password and didn't want the bother of getting a new one.

Nah. That's too easy. Well, wait a minute. If you're talking about time in the 100 yard dash, you're right.
