Sounds a bit like something from The Piano.

It sounds to me like John Adams' Grand Pianola Music.   (listening suggestion if it isn't)

Confirming again the above. it is; John Adams Grand Pianola Music

I also recommend it. It is for a largish winds orchestra -- no strings; double woodwinds, double brass, percussion, three wordless female singers [mic'd], and two pianos

your clip is from the second half.
the first half, is part A = slow, and B = fast; the A,B played without pause.
the second half [your clip] is ''On the Dominant Divide.''

To sound dictatorial/firm, there is really only one recording of this work which is successful,

Thanks all, you obviously know your stuff here. I wasn't expecting any answers really, as my classical music knowledge is close to zero I had no idea how popular or well-known these pieces were.

Why was it booed at its premiere, too mainstream? Not mainstream enough?
