Pretty self-explantory: I'll start with this one:

XB-70 Valkyrie

One of hte worst offenders has to be the Richter WTC on RCA. Lots of blood and and what-have-you all over the place. WTF? I love the performance, but it has to be one of the worst covers ever.

Well worst isn't exactly what I had in mind for this thread since a bad CD/LP cover thread already exists, but, yes, Richter surrounded by blood doesn't strike me as a pleasing visual experience. :)

Abuelo Igor

Do a couple or tiny red splotches qualify as "lots of blood"? And the rest of the bodily fluids hinted at are maybe in the eye of the beholder...

L'enfant, c'est moi.

Sergeant Rock

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

I love the facial expression there: "Don't come near me! I will cut you!" :D

The picture is bizarre (and even more so cut up into pieces as on this cover)..but yet, there's an explanation: I read somewhere (can't for the life of me locate the source now  :-[ ) that Enescu was mimicking some famous actor's impersonation of Oedipus...

I remember the cover and the explanation from our own bad cover art thread.

I don't mind the cover. I always thought the red color was wax that was used to seal envelopes.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Wise words from Que:

Never waste a good reason for a purchase....  ;)

Some of Bartoli's covers are awful (what the hell were they thinking with Sacrificium???), but this thing really takes some beating:

Two that seem quite bizarre to me ...

Yes, that was from me. The explanation is in Noel Malcolm's biography.
