I really enjoy what I have heard from Larcher. His piano concerto Böse Zellen requires the piano to be prepared in myriad ways, conjuring up all sorts of sounds, mostly of the atmospheric kind, except for an exciting middle movement.

I have a recording of Kenotaph somewhere. I am excited for what a larger orchestral work can bring in his works list. Many of his works are chamber or feature a solo instrument of some kind, which he excels at.

I would be very surprised if you did, because that was the world premiere performance... 

I got to know Larcher as a pianist with his superb Schubert-Schoenberg album that opened up the world of atonal Schoenberg for me.

In that case I'd be surprised if you didn't know where your recording was, because it can't be that long ago that you got it.  Whether off the ORF broadcast from Sunday or the engineers' takes on Friday et al...
Or was Kenotaph secretly performed and recorded before its premiere?

If it is going to happen, then it will share the disc with a piece by Iván Erőd and another composer, I think. Both those works have already been recorded. I haven't checked to see if that would also by Bychkov conducting or the Vienna Phil playing... but I assume that some such link would have to exist for DG to consider it.

I got it on June 5. I make a lot of recordings of broadcasts and misplace them quite frequently. Don't judge!

Likely the Triple Concerto by Iván Erőd, featuring The Clarinotts (their real name, seriously), Andris Nelsons, and the Wiener Philharmoniker from January 10, 2016. I doubt their arrangement of Barry Manilow's Copacabana will make it to disk, though...

I heard the Finnish premiere of the 2nd symphony tonight, and I enjoyed the performance - and the piece - a fair bit. Upon listening to more of his works, I can't say I'm completely convinced of his style - but perhaps I just need to dig deeper...
