No, this movie was made later than that. Great movie, though.
Darn!  Missed it!  [Tough break, kid, but we'll get 'em next season.]

One goes away for day or two and what does one see when returns? I was expecting that Tony, the ultimate watcher of all films obscure will certainly guess No.4, woman wearing a head scarf shot inside the car? That is so makhmalbafian not even to mention kiarostamiesqueness of the setting but no, he guesses the Terminator, friggin Terminator and supposedly on memory from decades ago, yeah right, I've seen Terminator (1 & 2) at least 2-3 times and couldn't remember that ::)

The world as we know it is going to an certain end, no doubt about it...

It's that Cherry movie, then? I really oughta see that one

No, there were no women in Taste of Cherry if I remember correctly.

hahaha :) Just checked the release date -- I was 11  :P I think it got burned into my memory. As boys we put a lot of pressure on each other to see that film -- all the talk during ski race days and at school was about terminator, or metallica, or some other  testosterone-pumping thing, and if you missed out you got heavily ridiculed for it. Gotta say I'm rather happy that I remembered it. I think the blue colour triggered it as I considered it on the first pic too.

Thanks for the new name: Makhmalbaf. Straight to my rental list :)

No it's definitely not that one.

You've seen Close-Up, haven't you? He figures heavily in that.

No not yet, it's in my next 10 rentals though. Can't wait to see it!

A couple films by Makhmalbaf and his daughter are available so I've added all of them.

Ah of course, Ten. But that's not her, and the second shot doesn't match, and anyway I already used that film  :P

I'll go ahead and tell you, since anyone who had seen it would have guessed by now. It's Through the Olive Trees.

You're not missing much, really. The central concept of the movie is that they're trying to make a film, but things keep going wrong. Most of the movie is them redoing the same take again and again. There's only so much I can take of someone saying "Where are my white socks?" :)

Lilas Pastia

Well, was it worth including in a film quiz, then... ???

Well, since I included it...

How about few more clues on Nos.1 & 2, we seem to be bit stuck.

Lilas Pastia

Yeah, we're waiting for the other shoe to drop :D

Hint: My number two movie is in Spanish, which is also the native language of the director.

You got me (at least) stumped on this one. Something by Bunuel from his Mexican period??

Yes, it's Él (AKA This Strange Passion). One of the best I've seen from him, and sadly not in print (in the US, anyway).
