Hey there! I'm new here but I'm so excited because tomorrow I will be going to Beethoven's Fifth homenage. "One of the world's greatest virtuosos delivers the rich Romanticism of Hollywood legend Erich Wolfgang Korngold, followed by the most famous symphony ever written."

I-ll keep you posted, it will be great!  8) ;)

Hi uli90, and welcome. I see you're based in Los Angeles -- ah, just found the concert at the Hollywood Bowl.

In any case, if you like, feel free to introduce yourself in the "Introductions" section of the board. And have a good time here.

Your enthusiasm is infectious, and without knowing you, I'm thrilled for you.

Have a great time, and dress for those cooler California evenings which so surprise the tourists ;-)

If you haven't heard the Korngold Violin Concerto before, you can familiarize yourself with a listen to the full piece here:

I also envy you hearing violinist Gil Shaham play anything live.

Best regards.

1.} When Luigi was but a tyke, a few days after his second birthday, he managed to stand up, reach the keyboard, and played a contra c# before falling back on his butt, and then gurgled with delight.

2.) Later that same year, having mastered standing up with only a hint of a wobble, he became obsessed with playing major seconds, but only on the black keys (the non-accidentals of that reverse keyboard.) It was then he first uttered his first two words, "Sekunde Moll."

3.) When he was three years old, he once farted while standing near the piano, cried out "B." This is when it was first recognized the little dear had perfect pitch.

4.) Days before he turned five years old, while standing again at the piano and playing Sekunden with the right hand within the octave between c' and c'' -- still only on those black keys which are now our white keys -- and the contra c# with the left hand, and alternating that with the adjacent sub contra "B" every time he occasionally farted ~ it was then recognized this child was a prodigy composer.

There ya have'em.  Lesser mortal musicians, read'em and and weep.

Best regards.

I think Ludwig said "kleine secunde" - moll refers to a minor key, but not minor intervals. Of course, Ludwig might have confused the two, too, as he was quite young at the time. . .

By the way, Ulises, I am merely having a bit of fun.  Do not mind me.

My impulse is to correct that, while, unlike Italian which is "So easy that even children speak it well," the language, the toddler's age, a grammatical error, all add up :-)
