I do not have any recordings of Prokofiev Op22a, Visions fugitives.
What is your favorite one ?
GMG forum is a very nice place, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Neither do I.
At the risk of scandal, I'll admit that the prime of my classical music explorations has been in the youtube era...

I am a 38-yr old enthusiast, and curious explorer of Music in general, from Italy...

My personal elite of composers would include a bunch of obvious names, and Sergej Prokofiev.

Hey V_f.

Can't go wrong with Prok. A particular favourite of mine is the legendary Piano Concerto No. 2 :)

Welcome to GMG, Visions fugitives.

Spineur, I rather like Matti Raekallio's recording, boxed up by Ondine. Everything here is superbly performed, although with more finesse than fire perhaps, in comparison with e.g. Argerich's Toccata.

Well, you nailed it. That is my answer when I'm asked "What is your favourite piece of music ever?".

Can't go wrong with Ashkenazy there, even though, from the many performances I've heard, the ones I'd recommend the most are from some young pianists, namely Yuja Wang, Boris Giltburg and - above all - Anna Vinnitskaya.

And hey, if your username is after what I think, then we share another big musical passion.

I'm very fond of the PC no. 2, too, and can second the Vinnitskaya recommendation. 8)

Nice, thanks. I'm fond of Kissin, and Vladimir Krainev:

You may be right.  ;)

+1 My favorite cycle of Prokofiev PCs.

Visions, I am an admire of Prokofiev, both his music and his manner. I am pretty sure that you are OK too.  8)
Salud e dinero... Hah! So that's what is missing.

Er... this is the (now former) Visions_fugitives... just chiming in to say that I couldn't access the email account I used with that account, so here I am with a new one.

And hopefully I'll be more active with this new one!

Cheers

Efrim Menuck is to me as much a genius as the ones we discuss here.
