Recently I heard this



And I certainly recommend anyone who likes this piece to check it out, particularly if you like interpretations that focus on the really dramatic side of Mozart's music.

One curious thing I should point out: after the Lacrimosa there is an Amen fugue, but only of the surviving fragment. This incompleteness gives it a very eerie feel and I really like the choice on this occasion. Perhaps because of the extreme levels of drama, speed, stillness, dynamic contrasts etc. the choice somehow just works within the context of everything else. I doubt anyone else could get away with doing this.
