K. 421 gets my vote - hard to top Mozart in D minor - but K. 387 comes very close at times.

I've always liked the last 2 best. If forced, I would pick the C major over the A major, but only because you made me. :)

K.387, for the pure rambunctiousness of it, although K.421 is breathing right down its neck, for the EXACT opposite reasons.

In this way he had a chance to have the rhythm drilled into him. And this was the beginning of a musical inclination in his descendants. JS Bach

I couldn't decide. K 387 has the most elaborate menuet in all Mozart and a wonderful "operatic" slow movement and while I am not quite as enthusiastic about the fugato finale as some others, it is a tremendous piece (and the first movement is also great). When he wrote it this was probably his best instrumental piece, clearly a milestone. Of course in the following 2-3 years while the other 5 where composed he wrote a lot of great music. I confess that I find the variation finale of the d minor slightly too long. Another great favorite is the A major K 464.

After a fresh listen, I chose K428, "Hunt".  After, its in between the K421 (D minor) and K464 (A major).  On a different day it could have been any of those.  They all so nice !!

The "Hunt" is K. 458. So maybe you chose 2 - that's cheating  :o

I admit that 428 and 464 have been less attractive to me than the others. Don't know why; they just seem "plainer" somehow.

Sorry I messed up.  I meant 458.
Actually, I would like to vote for 421,458, 464 and 465.  Just leaving two out.

I somewhat arbitrarily voted for The Hunt, but really love them all.
