What has happened to Telarc?

I think most of my favorite Telarcs were Jesus Lopez Cobos recordings with the Cincinatti Symphony.  Zinman also did some good recordings in Atlanta.

I wasn't aware that Zinman was involved with the Atlanta SO. Could you be referring to Yoel Levi?

I have and enjoy a number of Telarc releases. However, years ago I read a review somewhere pointing out that Telarc favored a certain kind of cool and smooth house style, probably related to their image as an audiophile label. Based on what I've heard I agree with that. Basically, if you like smooth and polished, you'll like Telarc. If you want fiery and spontaneous, look elsewhere.

It extends well beyond the fidelity of their actual recordings for me.
