I wanted to let everyone but especially those in the New York City metro area know that the staged premiere of my full-length "Capriccio Radio" will take place this weekend at the BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst, NY. "Capriccio Radio" is about a classical radio station under pressure to survive in a culture where such music has become increasingly marginalized, and the play grapples with the larger question of the survival of classical music today — and by extension, the clash between any art form and the demands of commerce, as well as the role of classical canons in a changing world.

For NY city-dwellers, Lindenhurst is about an hour on the LIRR from Penn Station or Grand Central. Tickets: : http://tinyurl.com/46dzvtww. Use code Rinkle423 for an online discount.

Here are a couple of little promotional videos:

And if you head to my Facebook page, you can view a 4-minute commentary from me on what to expect:

Hope some of you in the area can attend, and if not, we will be filming a video that will be available for a nominal donation!
Thanks, Larry Rinkel

Best Wishes for a success this weekend!

I have alerted my niece about the performances: she is in New York City somewhere right now!

Thank you, Leo! I'd be delighted if she could come!

For obvious reasons I won't be able to attend personally but I look forward to hearing about it in due course.

Greetings!

So, how did things go last weekend?

Were you satisfied?  (I hope?)

Yes, all things considered. It's a complicated play, we had a few performances glitches, and one or two actors were not as strong as the rest. But overall I was pleased. (And a video will be available in a couple of months.)
