All of the progressive rock legends are passing away. :'( I was first introduced to John Wetton through King Crimson's Larks Tongues in Aspic. His contributions to King Crimson were invaluable and he remained a consummate musician throughout his entire career. RIP.

The quality of his voice was wonderful, but his stronger talents came out in his work with King Crimson: Virtuoso on bass guitar and a brilliant improvisor. He could play the same tunes night after night and never play them the same way twice. He created bass lines on the fly that could not have been planned with any amount of compositional effort. Priceless.

I saw him live with Family (a vastly underrated group) before his stint in Crimson.

I've heard of Family. How would you describe their style? Prog rock?

Not really. Rawer.

Though they also have a mellower side.

Fun fact; The Beatles toyed with the title  Doll House (after Ibsen) for their white album, but were preempted by Family's "Music from a Doll's House".

That fact is even more fun, considering the withdrawn "butcher cover"  8)
