The 29 CD long box, long out of print.  I would think Sony would reissue it at some point.

Interesting...I don't believe I EVER saw that one...

Anyway bought the Cortot box. Thanks for the recommendation. I heard good things about him from the local radio stations.

Smart move on the Cortot!

There's also this set of 30 CDs, which is rather expensive, had AFAIK haphazard distribution and is not that easy to find (although I did see it in Brussels a couple of weeks ago, and some copies remain available in the different amazons):

The contents on the back cover seems to be in Japanese only  ::), and I've read somewhere that no liner notes are provided (typical of Scribendum).

An "Original Covers" set from Sony would certainly be nice...

Which Casadeus box is that? I only have this one and yes it is fabulous as I can't stop listening to it, probably as much for Casadeus as for Szell and his magnificent Clevelanders:

This box is actually a very frustrating one because they left out the few mono recordings that had been in the French Sony Casadesus edition in two 3-disc-boxes, and they are not of different works but mostly complement the stereo.

It was a French market only box released in limited numbers at the beginning of the century.  The various "a legend of the piano" Sony sets made up the box.  I bought the last one at Amazon France in 2002 (I watched the counter drop to one before coming to my senses and buying), and I've only seen it at FNAC once since, more than a decade ago, but at the time they did not ship outside France.

That's got to be a straight rip of the Sony set with something thrown in.  A decent portion of the Sony box included material never released before on CD.  I believe a Brahms concerto was left out, so maybe the Scribendum has a rip of that somehow.  Or a/some radio recordings.

Most probably...but when the likes of the Documents labels ripped the EMI Marcelle Meyer box, it could be had for less than 20 €. Scribendum, OTOH, asks in excess od 100 € for this Casadesus set...shame on them!  >:(

I saw that one...worth getting? It is around 20 bucks.

The Meyer box is worth getting if you are interested in French pianism of the early/mid 20th century and/or in Debussy, Ravel as well as Bach, Scarlatti, Rameau on the piano. The sound is historical (mostly 40s and 50s) but listenable.

Run, don't walk! The Rameau, the Debussy, the Scarlatti, the Ravel are top-notch....

If the transfers are the same as the EMI set, buy two!

I think I would look for a hypothetical complete Paul Badura-Skoda box.
