Do you buy from Discogs?

I have been poking around looking for some of my grail recordings and have been tempted by a some things. Any good sellers, or ones to avoid? What is a "good" seller rating? What are your experiences? With overseas (European for me) sellers?

(One acquaintance who does a LOT of business on Ebay told me that a "good" Ebay rating is 100% and a BAD rating is 99.999% or lower  )

I have bought from various Discogs sellers with varying results. The big issue is, as always, their grading. My advice is, before you buy and spend a lot of money, to ask the relevant questions about their quality. You will soon get a feel for it by their response. I have had to claim refunds from some sellers but I cannot remember who they were. There are some cowboys there so beware. I was active there once and even some of their own members were complaining. I am not trying to put you off merely to advise you to be careful and to question prior to purchase. At least you and the seller will know where you are both at before the transaction.

I've bought about 15 LPs off Discogs in the last year. No serious complaints. I did have to ask for a refund for a warped LP, but the seller gave it. The only minor irritation I've had is that sometimes the delivery takes a while (like 10 or more days), but the package does arrive. I think the key to using Discogs is only to buy from the most highly rated sellers.

Also, I only buy from sellers in the USA because I don't want to deal with overseas payments and shipping.

I made two purchases on Discogs this year, my only two ever. Each was a perfect transaction. In each case, I asked questions beforehand about versions, condition, etc.

I both buy and sell on Discogs--never had a negative transaction either way.
