Y'all have probably noticed that Mr. Platt has left the room.

I wonder if he will persist with his "experiment" and publish results in a journal somewhere.  Given the nature of the territory and the current level of competence of its inhabitants, the odds are good that he will do so.

It is possible the whole purpose of the experiment has been kept opaque for us as part of the design. If I were doing this experiment (saints forefend!), there would be a control group out there for whom the experiment was identical except for the inclusion of the biographical preface about Absalon Pick, and the point under study would be the effect of such narratives on the interpretation and reception of abstract music. That is the only way I could see this experiment making marginal sense. I would also sort the data according to differences in performing and playing experience, although the questions in that area were too sketchy to be of much use.

To be fair to the professor, perhaps all of that is happening. ;)

If it is not, then he needs to pay attention to our comments!   $:)
