Power conditioners?

What do I need for a home high-end rig--TT, vacuum tube preamp, ADC? I was looking at a Fuhrman M8-X2. http://www.furmanpower.com/product/15a-standard-power-conditioner-M-8X2 Amazon has this for about $80. Gets very good reviews.

I don't think we have any major power issues at our house, although we do have a lot of electronic stuff into this one pair outlet. Laptop, lamp, radio, phone chargers etc. will go into a separate power strip away from the audio. None of this stuff draws much current. (Power amp is in the other room.) Do I need a power conditioner that regulates voltage?

At what point do you draw the line on this type of thing? You can spend tens of thousands on this (magic pixie dust included!)

A better, if pricier, bet would be to have an electrician run a dedicated line for AV gear.  When I had an addition built, I had electricians add two, with outlets in three rooms.  (The home theater and bedroom stereo are on opposite sides of one wall, and share the same line.)  Since the electricians were on-site already, the cost was about $400.  It made more of an improvement than any power cable or conditioner could.  I use power strips that do not include any filtering, surge protection, etc.  I want the straight juice only.

That's an interesting idea, but we might not be here in this house much longer, so I want my money (for now) to go into something portable.

I tried a few different power strips sans filters and surge protectors, and none of them made a difference sonically, so probably just buy the one with the best warranty, or the best surge protection rating if that is what you are interested in.
