So far, I think it's better than the first one.

First-listen Friday:

Kind of Blue

Sure, I must have heard bits of it, here and there, forever.  First deliberate, attentive listen to the entire album.

And....?

greg

Listening to bits of Buckethead's "In Search of The", which is a 13-disc album with 92 songs (the longest being 45 minutes), and a total time of 9 1/2 hours. (And somehow he managed to release 4 other albums in the same year....)
I think it'd take a lifetime to get through his discography. If you add it up, over 50 CDs worth of music with just him as a solo artist recording in a studio for the last 17 years, plus so many collaborations that it's pretty much impossible to keep up with them all.

The new erato

Beatles Abbey Road in the new remaster. Pretty amazing.

It is not long, neither does it wind . . . .

Worth upgrading?

I find it way too thumpy in the bass and processed sounding. Like someone covered my tweeters with a sheet of paper towel and pumped up the bass.  :-\

The very rare (but easy to find the files if you know where to click, hint, hint) Black Triangle is the one to have IMO. Nice tonal balance and natural sound.

"When I'm 64". What an awesome song!

Agreed.

Heard "Honey Pie" from the White Album? Or Martha My Dear from the same album? Great Paul tunes!

Radiohead - The Bends

Is that your favourite of their albums?

Hard choice, but I would probably pick Kid A. More electronics please!

Tough choice indeed. For me it's a toss up between OK Computer and Hail to the Thief. (trivia question: who/what is the thief that they refer to in the title?)  :)

Kid A, but they all have something to offer (even Pablo Honey has a few good songs).

Hmmm. I don't actually know. Enlighten me!  :)

Yeah, can't really go wrong. Favourite song though? Mine, Pyramid Song.

I find the bass most excellent and the whole remastered album amazing. I can understand where George's comment on boomy bass are coming from though, this is the kind of bass that I can imagine on some systems with typical midbass bumps in the reproduction easily may sound boomy. On my $ 12.000 speakers placed far way from reflecting walls, and 2 X 240 W Conrad Johnson MV2500 power amplifier with it's own dedicated power circuit, it sounds deep, clean and, again, pretty amazing.

I found Tangerine Dream very late, only 2 years ago. TD is shockingly unknown in Finland.  :o But I have been hardworking collecting their music. I already have ~50 of their albums. Recently I have been collecting their 90's output (Turn of the Tides, Tyranny of Beauty, 220 Volt live & Goblins Club).
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I read in an interview that the thief is fear, for it often robs us of things that we would otherwise experience.
