I thought everybody had Band of Gypsies, even those (like me) whom aren't entirely crazy about Hendrix. Worth it just for "Machine Gun" (as we all know), but I always liked the intentionally "off" backing to "Changes" as well.

Changes is the one track that I am missing from that one.

Then I'm betting you had a good idea on planning to grab BoG "with the quickness" (sorry, getting all urban 1980's and all). Changes has some really cool, inspired...eh, Changes!

Report your listening of that as ASAP George.  Is it the same trio I take?

I'll open it and check:

Jimi: Guitar and Vox
Billy Cox: Bass, Backing Vocals
Buddy Miles: Drums, Backing Vox

Now Playing:

Early Yardbirds: Having a Rave Up

Question: Is it worth getting the expensive version of Blind Faith's first album?

I have a lot of Hendrix - 60 Cds and DVDs but I came across someone a while back who claimed to have 250+ albums on vinyl! Must have had a few duplications and I suspect 80% would have been bootlegs.

What are your three favorite live CDs (that have been released)?

Attaboy!  It ain't great music, but still I tend to enjoy it, and the album covers are great!

That's pretty much an impossible question. Unlike many other Hendrix fans I actually love every performance I own - even the so-called iffy ones such as Isle of Wight. I hold every concert is high esteem - it's remarkable that so many were recorded and thank goodness they were given the three studio album output (excluding of course COL and it''s future incarnation).
If I had to pick just one it would be Woodstock - and that for the haunting Villanova Junction (the track they play in the Woodstock film to accompany the people leaving and walking through all the scattered garbage). It's the least flashy of all Hendrix's solos but my favourite.
