She's good though.

I'd consider her more R&B than blues. Chess had a large roster of R&B artists.

My Taylor Swift obsession is completely reinvigorated after a couple of months of relative respite. That's what seeing the concert film of the Eras tour did.

I've listened to Lover complete 3 times in the last 2 days, plus permutations of select tracks and outtakes.

Honestly, when one of your weaker albums is this good, you're doing okay.

A good friend of mine told me that he ordered the regular 3-LP album of 1989, along with the CD AND the clear vinyl one!  ;D  :o  He also went to see Eras in the theater.

One of his daughters also went to see her in concert recently--loved it.

Believe it or not, I haven't heard most of her songs.  I should visit youtube and check out her songs better.  Which are your favorites Madiel?

You want me to give some favourites across a mere 10 albums?

Um, I'll stick with some singles and hence actual music videos because you said YouTube. So partly this is also good videos...

Blank Space, Wildest Dreams, Cardigan, Willow, Anti-Hero, Lavender Haze, Mine, Delicate, Lover, Our Song, Love Story, Safe&Sound, Everything Has Changed

That's 1 or 2 from every era, shuffled up a bit.  ;D

Blank Space is one of my favourite music videos by anyone, ever, and was something I loved years before I dived into her catalogue more broadly (which really only happened in 2022).

This compilation CD arrived finally today, a week late.

Mama Cass Elliot - Dedicated To The One I Love

Now I have adequate collection of Mama Cass Elliot, about two and a half hours of music. That's maybe 75-80 % of the music she recorded I think.

Thanks for the recs!  :)  I asked my friend which ones were his favorites and he mentions All Too Well and Epitaph.

I recently watched Right Were You Left Me (clever lyrics).  I've heard Shake It Off and Why Do You Have To Be So Mean and think that I've listened to Lover in the past (but will revisit it).  I don't normally listen to mainstream/pop radio stations or alternative ones (a bit more often), so I don't catch a lot of new music.  I do remember catching her on some awards show years ago in which she sang the .....Mean song.  I asked my friend how he ran across her music as he rarely turns on the radio.  Back when he had cable, he said that he saw her perform at the Grammys (not certain of the year) and was blown away.  :)

All Too Well is generally considered the ne plus ultra of Taylor songs. However I personally much prefer the 5-minute original version of it to the newer 10-minute version.

"Clever Lyrics" is essentially where the genius lies.

Now that's interesting (and all there for the listening on Bandcamp).  Sort of Shostakovich meets Ornette Coleman, to my innocent ears at first hearing.

I was born in 1966, with 5 older brothers. This and the Blue sequel were sort of the soundtrack of my early years. I can still hear the beginning of the next song in my mind while the previous track is still fading out, although I hadn't heard these in decades.
Anyway, remixed and with a lot more tracks. The jump in sound quality is immediately noticeable (well, for those who grew up on the old LPs on old systems...)
It's all good...

I didn't know these but have found "Damned In Black" on archive.org. I don't want to increase the proportion of metal in the car player but this would make a good replacement for some of the second rate stuff on there  >:D .

Mildly annoying that the sound drops out a bit.

I just watched that last week!  I thought about posting it, but thought nobody would care.  Guess I was wrong!

I have got my first The Carpenters album (this one arrived the fastest):

The Carpenters - Horizon.

For me this kind of soft sunshine pop is the antidote for the anxiety ridden dark post enlightenment times we live nowadays. This album recorded in 1974-5 used then state-of-the-art 24 track recording equipment and indeed the sound quality is excellent for a pop album almost 50 years old.
