Busy drive clearing again this morning! Formed in Melbourne in 1995, H-Block 101 played punk style tunes, sounding like a cross between The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers! Great stuff indeed...

I realize that I'm about five years late to this but damn, this woman rocks my world.
She's just split with her husband and I'm wondering if she likes sad, balding, broke middle aged men.

MSP - Found that Soul (single)

More lunacy by this infuriating band - at the time they were producing crap and boring albums like Know Your Enemy, they could also produce a great track like Locust Valley for this. Overall, this is one of the few singles I find worth owning, due to a good title track and two good b-sides (in this case, one great one).

What I had expected — nice pop tunes, futuristic production, those "Todd" chord changes. Pretty sweet.

Did you hear "Crybaby" yet?

Kullervo

Just watched the video on Youtube. I wonder why that wasn't a hit back in the day.

Various Aphex Twin stuff.

The more I listen, the more overrated he seems. For somebody so "prolific", he sure manages to release surprisingly little, and much of it is quite weak. Even all the "side projects" with only one release each don't amount to much. I am still pretty fine with him overall, but his huge fanbase is extremely unwarranted. I don't think he's even released anything new since 2005.

I still like him a lot, but I wonder if I would like him as much if I hadn't discovered him at a time when I was still forming my tastes. The Chosen Lords disc was the last thing he released IIRC.

ATM he's still my token figure for the entire electronic music genre so I can't throw him away without finding any replacement, and I can't be bothered to do the latter, as almost all of the genre is not to my taste. I am very glad he released the Analord series - for all its highs and lows, overall it adds a lot more AFX listening for me - less bitty and easier to grasp than the plethora of randomly named other releases, and in an accessable style.
