I think I might watch it this weekend. It's really incredible, Karl, certainly well worth the $10 it currently costs at Virgin Megastore, or have they closed the Boston Virgin Megastore?

karlhenning

They have indeed closed that one down.

Hmph.

Circuit City already folded.

Luckily, my two longstanding favorite spots are still going strong. Academy on 18th for used and JandR downtown for new.

Heard him at the Hall of Fame induction? Was the best solo I have ever seen/heard. It's on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLmZKsWRL9E His solo comes near the end.  :o

This link is the same if the other is not working: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYl942_I3Wo&feature=related

Yeah, I have been wondering about that...I thought maybe it dropped behind him, off camera?

The new Neko Case:

Musically a bit more upbeat than her last effort, but the same kind of darkness to the lyrics.

I'm happy.

Sarge, you dig on this one yet?

I lost touch after Diamonds and Pearls.

The album after that (The Love Symbol) is great - easily as good as D&P.  I also have the one after that (Come), which falls away in quality but I think is better than its reputation.  I've heard nothing of his post-1994 output.

I have huge respect for Prince and think he's one of the most talented guys in rock of the last 30 years.  I'd be surprised if I didn't enjoy his modern albums, but where do you stop?

Oh that's right, you don't  ;D  (says Russ, preparing for another weekend touring the used CD bins)

;D

Do you remember the hit "7", George?  What a great track!  That's off The Love Symbol.  Also "My Name is Prince" and "Sexy M.F.".

Exactly. Sorry, that album was not for me. Diamonds and Pearls was already push-ing it, I'm afraid. Pun intended.
