The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.

Indeed... great album, too  8)

Thanks!

I know that many find Hail To The Thief to be one of their worst albums, but I actually find it to be one of their best.

Took my son to a pop concert last night, to see Two Door Cinema Club.  I must admit to being completely oblivious to the group's existence prior to a few weeks ago, but had a very nice time nonetheless.  Very cool live show, interesting visual effects, lights etc., and the music, while not exactly deep, was a lot of fun.  There's something to be said for any experience that can make a teenager grin and bounce around in glee like they did when they were two... :)

the top one has a big-name line-up, but is by far the least interesting

McCartney: Ram

This is, for me, a really serious album from McCartney following on from the breakup of The Beatles. I thought that on this album he had many high calibre songs. I also thought that the prominence of the use of acoustic instruments in the arrangements was very effective. Not only was he perfecting his songwriting skills but he was also honing his production skills to great effect here. There are some really great songs on this album and I still remember the impact it had on me when I first heard it on its release. After this album he formed Wings and their first album to be released was Wildlife which I posted recently.

Yes, wonderfully soothing.

It still holds up very well for me due to the high quality of the songwriting.

Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxyene #3

Finally got around to listening to JMJ's 2nd Oxygene sequel.
I liked the album a lot more than I was expecting to - It seems to be JMJ in a more mellow/ambient mode which I like (I really enjoy his Geometry of Love album for example).
I don't think it sounds a lot like the previous 2 Oxygene albums though but maybe I'll notice more similarities on further listens... :)
