Vol. II.  Nice.

This is the one I remember from my teenage years, and the one that blew my mind.

Yeah, I was really glad that after the success of their Robert Johnson box Columbia Roots n Blues still did a reissue of the classic Vol.1 and Vol.2 "King Of The Delta Blues Singers" as I much prefer the way the track order plays on those - and its interesting to experience them the way the blues revival enthusiasts did in 1961.

On May 22nd Steve Earle will drop a new CD.  Until then I am listening to his last recording, Guy - a tribute to one of his mentors, Guy Clarke.

Simon and Garfunkel: Wednesday Morning 3am

Not my favourite Simon and Garfunkel album.

Young: Harvest

This one still holds up very well for me.

Sticking with DM:

For me, a desert island album. Stunning sound in its original CD mastering too.

Make that 2 desert island discs for me.

I still remember hearing Neil Young for the first time in my local supermarket's record shop section in France (his unplugged album at the time - back in 92 ?) I had no knowledge of acoustic folk/country (or country rock) as genres at time (mostly listening to electric blues, some heavy metal and Depeche mode among others actually). Hearing Neil Young felt like i had found my new musical home, and i bought that unplugged album here and there. Collected many more of his, particularly love Harvest for "Old Man" and "Needle and damage done"...and the rest of it... I even had the LP framed in my living room for a long while... ;D

Back in the early 1970s, Harvest was one of those compulsory albums that was standard fare for budding, young acoustic guitarists  ;D

Harvest is great, but for me, the desert island Neil album is After The Gold Rush.

I'm not normally a big fan of the black metal genre, but this album that came out last year is definitely my favorite in the genre. 10/10

Sooooo much soul in this album, despite the genre not exactly being known for that. It's one of those elite albums for me where I can listen all the way through and just feel every note, not a dull second here.
