Quote from: San Antone on January 22, 2025, 07:12:00 AMBecause Emmylou Harris is one of my very favorite artists, I have heard all of her records, including the pair of Trio records (although my preferences are for her solo records).  Her work with Rodney Crowell is excellent, as was her album with Mark Knopfler.

Glad to see you posting about her work.  She is a treasure.

Yes, she certainly is!  8)  :)

I've been fortunate to have seen her a few times in concert.  And you?

In last night's movie about Brian Eno, he mentioned how much he liked Fela Kuti, which led me to this quite amazing document on YouTube with Kuti and Africa 70, filmed live in Berlin in 1978.

What rock is this? Paych? Kraut? Post? I don't know. But I dig it.

I remember listening to their previous record a little while back and feeling like it was very post-rock. I liked it also very much. I need to revisit it.

Did you see the recent "generative" film Eno? I caught it two or three months (?) ago and thought it was great.

Yes, that's what sparked the Kuti interest! And I also loved the film. I went to the late screening (after the first one sold out), but would have happily considered going to both, knowing what I know now. A few days ago, they did do a 24-hour worldwide screening — so presumably you could see much more of the footage — but I was already booked for some other things and couldn't dip into it.

My brief comments in the movies thread here.

Ronnie Wood is a great guitarist imho. He is one of my favorite guitarists. He connects all the players in the band.
