Weite: Oase (2024)

What rock is this? Paych? Kraut? Post? I don't know. But I dig it.

I remember listening to their previous record a little while back and feeling like it was very post-rock. I liked it also very much. I need to revisit it.

Quote from: brewski on January 24, 2025, 06:06:52 PMIn last night's movie about Brian Eno, he mentioned how much he liked Fela Kuti, which led me to this quite amazing document on YouTube with Kuti and Africa 70, filmed live in Berlin in 1978.

Did you see the recent "generative" film Eno? I caught it two or three months (?) ago and thought it was great.

Yes, that's what sparked the Kuti interest! And I also loved the film. I went to the late screening (after the first one sold out), but would have happily considered going to both, knowing what I know now. A few days ago, they did do a 24-hour worldwide screening — so presumably you could see much more of the footage — but I was already booked for some other things and couldn't dip into it.

Ronnie Wood is a great guitarist imho. He is one of my favorite guitarists. He connects all the players in the band.

When I was very young, my family was involved in the Pentecostal revival, so I got to see some wild shit like folks speaking in tongues, folks writhing in the spirit, testifyin', but sadly no snakes. ;D

If you don't know what tongues are, nothing can prepare you for it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ILEapoVwdyo
