Haven't thought about this band in over two decades: MXPX's The Ever Passing Moment

This album produced their only "hit" - Responsibility (extraordinary catchy, in fact, I've been unknowingly humming it not knowing it was them) - their music video stars George Wendt!

This CD finally arrived (ordered July 27):

Carly Simon - Live at Grand Central (1995)

Awesome performace! What I don't like about this CD release is graphic design. The artwork for the cover was done for normal CDs. This is a "digipack" release and the cover is 140 mm x 125 mm instead of 120 mm x 120 mm. So, they stretched the cover art horizontally about 12 % to achieve the "needed" aspect ratio. Instead they should have cropped the bottom part to achieve the needed aspect ratio without stretching the cover art.

Also, why didn't they make the texts white in the original art? Or make the background brighter for black texts? Also, some early 2022 AI picture enhance has been used for the photos making them look unnatural and plastic/waxy. All of this makes the cover art feel very amateurish.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Man, punk had it right when it came to understanding quality > quantity: Circle Jerks's Wild in the Streets

Such rhythmic complexity - such bare (stripped-down) instrumentation - music is a miracle. :)

Hadn't thought of this singer (or their style) in ages (only came across it because it was mentioned, in passing, on a podcast I listen to): Poe's Hell

Open Reel Ensemble: Magnetik Phunk. A pal posted this on Bluesky, and it's quite fun, especially if you have a thing for reel-to-reel tape.

Today,

Goo Goo Dolls (1998): Dizzy Up the Girl
My Chemical Romance (2004): Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Fall Out Boy (2005): From Under the Cork Tree (used to loath this band, but they've come to grow on me as I've aged)

Proof that you only need one: Guns N Roses's Appetite for Destruction

One of the great album covers, as well. :)
