Quote from: Mister Sharpe on September 22, 2025, 02:42:10 PMI saw her live many years ago and was nothing short of enthralled with her and her backing band. Came to love these two albums of hers (below), later ones rather less so (both silvered well); also saw her with the band Bryndle. BTW, Restless features one of the most moving performances ever of the traditional the Water is Wide, which I understand the band grew quite tired of.

Thanks for weighing in. Honestly, until this past weekend I had forgotten that years ago I had that first recording and used to play it to death. Never saw her live (lucky you!), and haven't heard Restless Nights, which I'll remedy soon. And of course, now she has a website, and apparently is still holding up at 73.

Did I buy this just for the cover? Yes. Is the music awesome! Also, yes. Dopethrone's Transcanadian Anger.

Ha-ha; reminded me distinctly of this book, also (confessedly) bought for its cover!

That is a sweet cover.

I also came across this cover by Gatecreeper, but it was only for a single, so I bought the full album instead, but I did save the cover for being so badass, lol.
