Had to brute force to rediscover this song:

Dappled Cities' Driving Home at Night - and the rest of the album, of course - but this is a song designed to make your booty move - so infectious. :)

A stunning arrangement of "Scarborough Fair" by Jared Graveley, sung by Chanticleer and VOCES8. (Graveley is a bass-baritone with the former group.) The simplicity of the opening 20 seconds gives no hint of the elaborate, pungent harmonic progressions to come.

"I set down a beautiful chord on paper—and suddenly it rusts."
—Alfred Schnittke (1934-1998)

Came across this artist on Bandcamp completely by accident - was looking for the soundtrack to Z for Zachariah, and she had a release with the same name.

Carly Zoladz's in a different season: https://krelboynegirl.bandcamp.com/album/in-a-different-season

I had to chat with Copilot to get some help explaining how it made me feel, and it suggested, and I agreed, with weltschmerz - "world-pain". There's something about her voice - the music is so stripped and bare - it made me feel. :)

Been looping this.

I've never felt so much pain - I find it achingly beautiful - oof, I sound like a damn romantic aesthete, lol.

Spotify hipped me to Melody Gardot and have been listening to a lot of random tracks of hers recently.

Almost no music of any sort recently, but this was tonight...

"A quiet secluded life in the country, with the possibility of being useful to people ... then work which one hopes may be of some use; then rest, nature, books, music, love for one's neighbour — such is my idea of happiness"
