There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Tony Banks, A Curious Feeling

I'm not sure what album that is, Karl, but I bet it tastes like chicken.

Fans of Ray Charles might appreciate the links & pic shown below:

Susan & I just returned from a 'too short' vacation to the Ponte Vedra/ St. Augustine area in Florida - have not visited for 20+ years; of course, St. Augustine is the oldest European established city (1565) in the USA (will put some more details in the nearly defunct 'vacation thread' soon).

But, on a nice sight-seeing boat ride of the waters around St. Augustine, I took a bunch of pics, including the one below - across the marsh in the distance is the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, one of the best in the USA, and established in the 1880s.

Ray Charles, born in Georgia but located to Florida attended the school from 1937-45 - I was humming Georgia On My Mind while taking the picture (of course, now the 'state song' of Georgia) -  ;D

Inspired by George's "12 Desert Island Rock Albums" thread...King Crimson Lark's Tongues in Aspic (1973).  I don't really need much excuse to play this  :)

I do need to go back to it, Bill . . . work interrupted it yesterday, and then Prokofiev took over.

I don't think he actually played it on that occasion, but a friend of mine who at the time worked as an intern at Warner Bros had A Curious Feeling on LP.  A couple of the amazon reviews piqued my curiosity (including one fellow who wasn't sure what he thought of it the first he played it through, but after three listens it was one of his favorite albums).

Relistening to the newest Levellers. It is surprisingly excellent considering the crap which preceeded...
