The 33 1/3 series book on this album is a most interesting read, George. (I snaffled a brief quotation from it as a blog post not long ago.)

Dr. Dread

Paul McCartney performing the rock and roll he grew up with. And doing it well.

Thanks for the tip, I have a love/hate thing with that series.

My take is equally mixed.  I enjoyed reading the Let It Be and Trout Mask Replica volumes.  Found the Songs in the Key of Life book a little too frequently annoying;  and the Swordfishtrombones, practically unreadable.

. . . and an initial dip into the [Led Zeppelin IV] book has not compelled me to continue  8)

A car song comp...

I fetched in the debut album some little time ago.  It's so perfect, I almost can't bear to get anything with the later hits  ;)

In fact, any of my dips into any of the Led Zeppelin material has not inspired me to continue. Yawn.

Just my opinion  ;).

Curiously, we've got a couple of Led Zeppelin books in the music section of the MFA shop — and yet, no Nielsen, the true Hammer of the Gods  $:)

I've looked briefly at Hammer of the Gods and Led Zeppellin Slept Here, but I suffer a profound incapacity for taking any interest in what I read there.  Don't know why!

The [mighty] Sword
