We have a prevailing south westerly wind which brings both heat and rain, hence our temperate climate. An unfortunate consequence of this is our unpredictable weather patterns. However, if one is prepared to tolerate this, the west coast of Ireland offers many unique landscapes and indeed a unique people and is always highly recommended as a holiday attraction. There is also the strong element of traditional Irish music to help sooth any weather concerns.
