Haunting and bittersweet melodies for those who are aware that life is not about grief and sorrow only, but about joy and merriment as well.

Technically, light music usually refers to orchestral music. So I think most of this doesn't apply (as much as I love it). That said, much of the Ketelbey and Ofenbach has been orchestrated, so I could let those in.

But as much as I love the Gottschalk, and always good to see it suggested, I wouldn't classify that as Light Music, even if we set wide latitude to the terminology. Still, I am happy to second the recommendation, because the music is outstanding in excellent performances, regardless of how its labeled.
