Nicely done, Ron!

Thanks Karl.

I have prolonged a few of the ideas while making a separate work out of the ending. The Fantasy wound up sounding a bit like T. Monk and the other shorter work I call the Motor Dance...

So far, a fast and a slow...

I've composed a third movement to the piece above....Here are all three; two short-fast and one slow.

From the 6th string quartet; I tried to be consistent from movement to movement, but it's not very uniform. There's an atonal movement, one in the middle and one that's clearly diatonic in language :(

As some of my recent works have been episodic in nature, I decided to make this sonata movement more firmly crafted--yet hopefully not predictable. There are two theme groups. The 32nd note semitone figure, and the ascending 4th quasi tonal arpeggio (and chords).

Here it is...

Keep up the good work, Ron!

Amen!

As far as a work being "Episodic," all works are episodic in one sense: it is a matter if the episodes have connections of some sort.  Remember, even silence can be a connector (cf. Anton Bruckner ).   ;)

Here is the finale (3rd mov.) to my thorny piano sonata. It's very dense in motivic relations based upon  two harmonic structures and a propulsive rhythm that begins w/ 3/4  6/8 interplay. I was thinking Ginestera in tone but it's more like Bartok or Peterson. I spent quite some time adding some silence to the note-abundant texture. Though complex, it's short--2 minutes. Included is the 3rd. mov. score and the a-files of the other two movements. It's my shortest sonata.

Here's the score for sonata 24 3rd movement (see above).

Here is my first try composing for guitar and orchestra. I shy away since there are so many guitarists-turned composers out there. But in our unfortunate reality people respond to what they can see, so I get more music cred by playing for less than  a minute rather than composing a mass or symphony.... Here is the opening...

Here's my first concerto for guitar. It's difficult to attain balance in concert but I tried to leave space for the soloistic lines. How does it sound?

Interesting orchestration. Sometimes trying to lift up the guitar with contrast from below.
