Here is the 1st movement of my latest piano sonata. After composing the 2nd and 3rd movements, I wrote this which integrates material from the outer movements ( The triplet chord figure from the 2nd movement and the repeated note rhythmic figure from the 3rd. The pitch material is similar, comprised of 3 tetrachords that together form the 12 note aggregate. But by themselves these chords have strong tonal properties (well, 2 out of three). This way there is strong harmonic pull that at times sounds diatonic, other times atonal and 12-tone.

Actually, that post was an accident. It's an oboe piece from long ago. I tried making a flute version and didn't like it. I thought I was posting something else...But thanks for listening.

Here's a husky, craggy work for Piano flute and clarinet.  I've completed 3 movements as of 3:15 AM...

Since I installed note performer, I've been revising some old pieces to take advantage of the better sounds. This 3rd movement from my 19th Sumph has taken on a new life. I hope it's exciting.

Here is the just-completed Sonata 30 for Piano. It's in one movement (one of only two in the collection) and is not really divisible into sub-sections--that's why it's one movement :)   .  The sonata has no serial material nor is it based on a specific PC set. Rather, the language is quasi-tonal with a CMaj to AMaj dynamic (transposed quite often) I hope you find it engaging.

Here's my latest! A quartet for Fl, Cl., Bsn., and pno. It's composed with an ordered set that is diatonic-sounding though it exploits the aggregate.

I enjoyed this, Ron, and then didn't get around to forming an intelligent comment.  Good work!

Beautifully evocative, Ron. Bravo!

Thanks Karl! I haven't been on this site for awhile as it appeared dead. But now that you're back I'll listen and post more often...
