  Dear all

Please forgive my ignorance in this matter but I have noticed that a lot of the new MET productions are filmed in HD then they appear in 2 formats DVD and Bluray.  My question is: does anybody know if there is a difference in picture quality between the DVD and Bluray given that the filming was done in HD. The only reason I am asking this is that sometimes the Bluray version is considerably more expensive than the DVD.  Is it worth the investment?

Please note I am not referring to HD DVD which is now obsolete.

any advice regarding this matter would be appreciated.

DVD = SD (Standard Definition = about 0.4 million pixels)
Blu-ray = HD (High Definition = about 2 million pixels = 5 times the pixels of SD)

A production filmed in HD should look dramatically better on Blu-ray. Is it worth the investment? That's up to You. Personally I don't watch DVDs anymore if Blu-ray is available.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.
