I have been a CAPS fan for their entire life.

They have had some great teams in the past that have folded in the playoffs.  It has been so frustrating.

Town is going nuts.

A consistently excellent team in the regular season for many many years, I wouldn't mind them winning it this time.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Uhh... this is about (ice) hockey, right?

André

I think it's their year. But one shouldn't underestimate the Knights, a brand new team made up of leftovers from other franchises. The stuff american movies are made of... 8)

I agree.  If they can get their act together they can still pull it off.

Marc

It would at least make Ovechkin's NHL career complete.
No Olympic medal though (yet?).

Haven't the Caps been up 3-1 in a playoff series before and lost it? Like, several times?
Sorry not trying to jinx them, it's a good sports story, I'm rooting for them. Plus, no expansion team should win the championship in their first year of existence, but that is also a good sports story.

Bottom line: Hockey is a great sport.

The joy of ignorance - I assumed "GO CAPS" was a reference to an idea that we should all fill our posts with capitalised letters and exclamation marks like your POTUS!!!!!! - NOT!!!!!!

They have made that into an art form.

After 43 years finally.

I remember the first season when they one only eight games.

I don't follow hockey but I was in the city too. The excitement and happiness were contagious.

I watched the final period, was so intense. Way to go CAPS!

You could see Ovechkin on the bench shaking while the final minute was ticking down.
