Thought I would try to start a broad thread for performing music not specific to any particular instrument.

and second, a pedagogy question - my 12YO son is starting piano, and I dont want to second guess his teacher, but in music school I was taught to read intervals, not note names.  Does this make sense for a beginning piano student? (and fwiw I am no great sight reader)
