The man at the right is George Gershwin.
That was my immediate reaction too...

Good day, Andrei!

Yes. Your turn.

Pursuing the feminine component of this thread, who is this young lady?

I checked Pauline Viardot Garcia and Teresa Carreno. Turned out to be the last one. Didn´t know that she composed?

Yes, she did compose...mainly for the piano (of course), with a catalogue of at least 40 works with opus numbers, plus a handful of choral-orchestral pieces and chamber music.

She often is represented on record compilations of music by female composers, but there's also a couple of CDs out there dedicated exclusively to her music.

Your turn, Sir!  :)

One of those somehow iconic photos, you don´t tend to forget, once you´ve seen it.

So I´ll just post a fragment :)

Hint:

a composer quite interested in the national heritage.

Based on the photo, could be Bartok.

No. Note the glasses (they are heavy) and the Alec Guiness/George Smiley-like appearance.

Yes, I noticed the glasses after posting. I'm sure I know him. Think, Andrei, think hard!

Ginastera?

Not a bad guess, but no.

Here´s the upper part of the photo:

Messy Anne? But I've never seen a photo of good old Olivier wearing a hat like that...

The suggestions so far have been too southernly.

Particularly known for orchestral and vocal works plus string quartets.
