Jamie

Greetings good people,
I have enjoyed many entertaining and informative discussions on this forum and will continue to do so in a slightly, very slightly, less anonymous fashion, as a member.
My opinions are often fickle and uninformed but I take much pleasure in listening to the music and look forward to being part of a community that shares that pleasure.

You are very welcome Jamie. We hope to see you participating often  :)

Thanks for the warm welcome.
As to favourite composers, all too many to choose from. Some that I return to for the enduring pleasure they give no matter what other direction my ears may lead are Ravel, Shostakovich, Webern, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Beethoven (most often the string quartets, piano sonatas), Bach, J.S., Cage, Stravinsky, Schubert, Liszt, and in the past year many English composers have become favourites, among them Arnold, Williams, Holst, Delius, Bax. And many more.
The luxury of music streaming services, that allow almost endless opportunities to sample pieces and performances is a wonder to a novice such as me.
I look forward to finding my way around and participating.

Welcome from me as well! That's a great list of favorite composers. It's particularly great to read that you love English composers - an area of interest for me as well. I hope you enjoy your time here! :)
