This is from the film by Clouzot that's been discussed somewhere else. I discovered it's available on Youtube. This is absolutely fascinating. I'm just floored by the incredible analytical powers of this man.

I've tried to use the new Flash video feature, but I can't make it work :P, which doesn't surprise me one bit. Here are the individual youtube links, so if anyone can change them into those nice youtube videos, please be my guest!

Which orchestra is that? The clip says the Vienna Symphony.

King Karajan

I own this DVD and it's a real treat to see the master at work. Such attention to detail! The results get better and better as the rehearsal continues. I wish we had more footage!

The Vienna Symphony, I would assume! Otherwise known as Wiener Symphoniker - the "other" major Viennese orchestra, and one that Karajan worked with quite a lot, if I recall correctly. :)

The clips were all fantastic, by the way; many, many thanks for the upload. I should have bought that DVD when I first came across it. >:(
